After closing that program, I have to return it to "custom." Then I have to use the "extreme" setting, which brings the fan to max. The irritation comes when I have to run something on a heavy load. My workaround has been to set a "custom" speed of 900 RPM, which keeps things cool under normal load and is quiet. Apparently iCUE used to allow setting a fan curve, but it no longer allows that (at least for the i200). When the temp gets too hot, the BIOS failsafe kicks in, the computer flashes red, and the fan spins up to max RPM until it is cooled.
